National Refugee Shabbat Potluck Dinner - CANCELLED

Governor Beshear asked all houses of worship in Kentucky to cancel services this weekend, to stop the spread of the Coronavirus. In order to comply with the governor’s request, Adath Jeshurun is cancelling all worship services and programs this weekend, including the National Refugee Shabbat Potluck Dinner.

 
Join Jewish Family & Career Services and Adath Jeshurun in participating in National Refugee Shabbat on Friday, March 20th. 
 
We are witnesses to one of the largest humanitarian crises in human history. There are now more than 70 million people who have fled their homes due to persecution and violence. The involvement by the Jewish Community has made a huge difference, however, there's more to be done. Learn about these issues at National Refugee Shabbat hosted by JFCS and AJ.
 
  • 5:45 p.m. - Kabbalat Shabbat Service
  • 6:45 p.m. - Vegetarian potluck dinner*
  • 7:15 p.m. - Panel Discussion featuring refugee experiences and Jewish perspectives
*The pitch-in potluck dinner is free of charge and open to the community. Since the meal is not being prepared at AJ, none of the food may be taken into AJ's kosher kitchens. Additionally,serving utensils must be brought with each dish, since AJ's kosdher utensils may not be used. Items must be brought in using disposable aluminum pans; Please remember that no meat, nor meat by-products may be brought into the building. Vegetarian or all-dairy dishes are fine. Pre-packaged items such as wine, challah, or dips must contain a kosher symbol. Please sign up by filling out the form below.
