SHORT & SWEET FAMILY SERVICE

AJ parents and students in grades K through 7 are invited to Short & Sweet Family Service, Adath Jeshurun's once-a-month family Shabbat morning service, led by Deborah Slosberg. At 10:15 a.m. your child is invited to find his/her attendance card and choose a part to read in Hebrew or English. The service is 45 minutes long, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., including a story.

Our family-friendly prayer book, "Siddur Mah Tov," is beautifully illustrated with Hebrew prayers translated into English and transliteration. The service is informal and relaxed, and all students are welcome to participate. At 11:15 a.m. parents and children are invited to join the conclusion of the regular Shabbat morning service and the Kiddush lunch. Attendance at Short & Sweet Family Service counts toward AJ attendance requirements for bar/bat mitzvah.

If your child would like to be assigned a short Torah reading (knowledge of trope not necessary) or a prayer from the Siddur to practice in advance, please e-mail Deborah Slosberg.
