sallah.jpgWe will be featuring the award-winning film Sallah Shabati - a Featuring the award-winning film Sallah Shabati, a 1964 Israeli comedy about the chaos of Israeli immigration and resettlement, featuring Chaim Topol who played “Tevye” in the 1971 movie, Fiddler on the Roof. The film begins with Sallah Shabati, a Jewish immigrant, arriving with his family in Israel. He is immediately taken to live in a transit camp, and is given a dilapidated, one-room shack in which to live in with his family. He spends the rest of the movie attempting to make enough money through his comical schemes to purchase adequate housing.
