Shabbat Scholar - Gabi Cohn

Shabbat Scholar

January 13th

Roth Family Board Room

12:15 p.m.

gabi_cohn.jpgGabi Cohn is a second year education fellow at the Institute of Southern Jewish Life ISJL in Jackson, MS. She grew up in Fairfax, Virginia and earned her Bachelors' Degrees in Psychology from Columbia University's School of General Studies and Modern Jewish Studies from The Jewish Theological Seminary of America's List College. She will lead us in an analysis of Prayer for the State of Israel. As a new prayer, the Prayer for the State of Israel has no halakhic requirements or connections so left room for a great deal of creativity, interpretation, and expression of ideas. We will look at these variations and discuss what would be included if we wrote a Prayer for the State of Israel.
